Ranking the top 5 Nevada high school football stadiums

Obviously we’re a couple months away from the high school football season right now, but plenty of people of dreaming for the moment toe hits leather once again this fall. As other spring sports begin to wind down all over the country, we’re going to continue our high school football stadium series and rank the Top 5 venues in every state. We continue with our rankings and head to the West Coast region over in the Silver State as we rank the Top 5 Nevada high school football stadiums:

1. Fertitta Field, Bishop Gorman

Home to Nevada’s top high school football program, the Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman
Gaels, Fertitta Field combines modern, state-of-the-art facilities with breathtaking views of the Spring Mountains in the backdrop makes this venue a can’t miss if you’re in Sin City.

Each year, national powerhouse teams make the trip to Las Vegas, giving fans the chance to see elite programs battle the nationally ranked Bishop Gorman Gaels football program in person. If you can catch a game where they play another nationally recognized team, you’ll maximize the experience on sit. There’s no doubt this venue belongs on our list of the Nevada’s best high school football stadiums.

2. Highlander Gold Stadium, Incline

How cool would it be to play a high school football game literally minutes away from Lake Tahoe? For the Incline Highlanders, that’s a reality and in thanks to a large donation just a few years ago in making it happen.

Part of a $38-million expansion project by the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation, the stadium sits just minutes away from one of the country’s top western tourist destinations. With a state-of-the-art scoreboard and a artificial turf field, though the venue is on the smaller end, provides a unique vibe on Friday nights.

3. Green Valley Stadium, Green Valley

Green Valley Stadium, home of the Green Valley Gators, is one of Nevada high school football’s top venues and doesn’t need the desert in the background to make this a must-see stadium.

The facility is just minutes from downtown Henderson and modern looking like many on this list, features somewhat of a old-school press box on the home side. The venue was upgraded in 2021 with new artificial turf and all the amenities one would expect at a high school football game.

4. Damonte Ranch Stadium, Damonte Ranch

The trend with these Nevada high school football stadiums is the best ones having a view in the background and this next venue is no different out of Reno, Nevada at Damonte Ranch High School.

Damonte Ranch Stadium is on the very southeastern edge of the city of Reno, giving a perfect view of the Virginia Range. The field uses a synthetic turf playing surface and sits on a sports complex with multiple athletic stadiums. Combining the modern look along with the Nevada scenery in the back drop makes this one a hard stadium to pass up.

5. Las Vegas Stadium, Las Vegas

Sitting on the very eastern outskirts of Las Vegas, opposite of of where Bishop Gorman’s Fertitta Field is, lies Las Vegas Stadium, home of the Wildcats.

With the Gale Hills in the background of the facility, South Hollywood Boulevard separates the stadium from the desert, providing a picture perfect view from a high school football venue. The stadium is home of the annual “Bone Game” rivalry matchup against Rancho High School and is equipped with a artificial turf playing surface. Closing this list off with the Wildcats’ stadium gives high school football fans a look into another one of the state’s unique venues.
