3-star PG Jaylen Petty commits to Texas Tech
Jaylen Petty, a three-star recruit in the 2025 class, has committed to Texas Tech, he told Rivals.
The 6-foot point guard out of Rainier Beach (WA) originally committed to New Mexico in September. Following a coaching staff change, Petty reopened his recruitment and committed to Stanford in April. Then in June, he reopened his recruitment once more and now lands with the Red Raiders.

A native of Seattle, Petty led Rainier Beach to a 28-3 record and a state championship this past season. He averaged 24.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game.
Petty is ranked as No. 170 overall player in the 2025 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 23 ranked point guard and the No. 1 player in Washington.
