This comes as no surprise. It also means he will announce his plans on Dec. 31. My guess is the transition will happen in and around Jan. 30, 2027 which was pretty much the plan all along. Update--I was wrong about the Jan. 30, 2027--it looks as if it will be EOY.

Wait until you see his replacement before you all get too excited.

Are you surprised he didn't hold off until we have a new university president or do you think we'll have an acting AD in the interim?

Just realized this means Mitch is probably doing the hiring here .. that should be a good thing.

Ya, this is interesting to me as well. Would think that you'd want whoever was going to be the full time President next to make this pick. Incoming ADs I would think would also want to know this.

This is true and probably a better scenario. Best case would've been Mitch back, with Mike Berghoff still leading the charge on the BoT. Hopefully Lehman is up to the challenge. Big, big decision - bigger than any single coaching hire.

Two thoughts: Mitch hired Bobinski. No AD will want to take a job without knowing who his/her boss will be. The President search has to be dome by then.

Fair .. he didn’t start off that bad, just was not equipped for dealing with the new landscape. Maybe the hirings will be concurent, or roughly coordinated .. who knows.

So the big question is, who will decide the next AD? Is it gonna be Daniels?

Meet new boss. Same as the old boss. That's going to be the outcome. For better or for worse, Purdue is going to do what it's always done.

Yeah, I was going to say, hasn't this been sort of known/speculated here for a while just not a target date revealed....

Other than one bad hire, he didn't do a bad job. Definitely room for improvement though!

Imagine submitting a resume that includes hiring the worst football coach in Purdue history. Grimes wouldn't get hired at Lafayette Jeff.

Unless you want more money diverted from FB and MBB for WBB, don't expect much from the Lady Boilers.
