I'm sure I will get a lot of grief about this post. First let me say I am a USC Grad 1971. I live and die with every game. This is a cycle I go through with Football most every year. Spring - Having come off another really disappointing year I say to myself I will never fall for this again. We are what we are an average at best SEC Team. I say to myself " I love USC and I will love them forever but we suck and will never be good" Late Spring early Fall - Boy we are really getting some good recruits in town. Boy if we could sign some of these guys ..maybe just maybe we wouldn't suck so bad. Boy Spring practice went REALLY well!! There are some guys that are ready to step up. With the new freshman and the next group of Seniors maybe we could have something. Wes and Chris are saying really good stuff about the team.. BUT.. I'm not falling for it!! NO not this year!! I'll believe it when I see it!! Early Summer - Boy those Summer Camps and Summer recruiting weekends are REALLY going well. I can't believe all the Five Stars that are coming in each week. I know with Sean we will get some of these players. The losses of the previous year are starting to fade from my memory. Boy if we do get that Five Star how could we not be a lot better then last year. Boy o Boy maybe this is the year!! NO NO NO I am not going to get into this AGAIN. They are really going to have to show me something before I will believe it. They almost had me but I've been around long enough to not fall for this hype. Summer Practice - Boy did you hear how well the Summer is going!! The team is really clicking on all cylinders. Everyone is on campus and showing up to practice. Nobody has been arrested or thrown out of school. No one has been injured. I really can't believe how well it is going!!!! Those new guys are BIG-STRONG and a freak. How could we not be MUCH MUCH better then last year!!!! I can't beleive .. This could be the year!!! OH NO, NOT ME, I'M NOT GOING THERE. SEC media Days - What do they know anyway. How in the world can they pick us last in the conference. They are so stupid!! Have they not heard about our new freaks and new coaches. I can't believe how they always pick Texas, Georgia and Alabama. Just because they always finish at the top of the league every year. That's no reason why they shouldn't pick USC. They did not do their homework. We have that under the radar lineman that is really going to turn our direction around. I am really excited about the season. I really do think this could be the year. OH shit they almost had me. I just can't help myself. I love my Gamecocks and really MAYBE this really could be the year!! I know , I know I said I wouldn't get excited but... NO NO NO NO I will NOT go there until the team wins a game. Fall Practice begins - Boy I wish Wes and Chris could name all the starters. I don't see why Sean won't go ahead and name the starters. I'm sure that great transfer running back is going to rush for a 1000 yards. The offensive line will only give up one sack this year and that was only because it was raining and the lineman slipped. That project player that went under the radar is really showing out and you should see those freshman fighting for starting positions. How in the world could we not be at least 8-4. 8-4 is the floor 9-3 or 10-2 is reasonable. I mean with our talent and coaching I think it's going to happen. Did you hear one of the websites has projected USC in the top 25. I'm so excited. I really think this is the year!!!!! Wait.. NO didn't I say to wait and see?? Well, I waited most of the year. Now the season is approching. I haven't fallen for it totally but who knows. Fall practice ending - Wow!! The team (on paper) looks REALLY REALLY good. The quarterback has hit every pass the entire practice. Threading the needle. The defense has intercepted every pass and the defense looks like they can stop anyone. How could I have evry doubted my Gamecocks!! THIS IS THE YEAR!! I'M SURE OF IT!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME. I'M GOING TO GET MY TICKETS TODAY!! FLOOR IS NOW 10-2 AND 12-0 IS VERY POSSIBLE!! FIRST GAME- we won but we did not look that great. Oh well it's just the first game. Game two is the biggest improvement of the season. Second Game - well it was a good season. I well continue to watch the games because I love my Gamecocks but I'm not going to cry if a miss a game because the wife wants to go shopping. Can't wait for next year!! We have some more five stars coming in but I'm NOT falling for the hype EVER AGAIN!! Love you guys!! THIS IS THE YEAR!!

Join the CommunityI said the main thing to watch was this brewing from behind the scenes was buzz that Miami was wanting to flip him and no more visits happen. He set a South Carolina OV for this weekend and then LSU, and told both staffs this week that his plans remained the same. He even went public with his decision to visit USC earlier today. Now, it’s the flip the Canes pushed for. After an initial text to a source, expect them to ramp up the push for KJ Greene this weekend on his official visit at LSU…
Purdue AD Mike Bobinski is retiring, sources tell On3. Will retire on Dec. 31.
Can we PLEASE find another nickname for Milan other than "Mommy"? I've been seeing people use it and I really don't want it to catch on. It feels real cringey and creepy to me.
Since all the big billionaire oil schools are buying all the players, just put the National Title up for the highest bidder and let it be done!!!! COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS TOTALLY DESTROYED!!!!!
Over the past week, Pryce Sandfort, Cale Jacobsen, and now Sam Hoiberg all got engaged. Trevan Leonhardt also got married. Heck of a run.
The reasons may come down to more than these listed but certainly they are amongst the main ones: Some kids see themselves as not able to play at this high level and want to go where they can compete.. The position room for them is very crowded and they realize their chances are 50-50 where the chances elsewhere could be easier They just simply don’t like Knoxville or playing at UT Even though Elander gets credit for recruiting a lot of these players, these guys came here to play for Tony, period. And who wouldn’t rather play for a coach that is energized and bold versus a coach is much less gung ho and firey (and has proven the know how to win) Chemistry of the teammates.. didn’t seem as “there” this year as in the past And of course Money, Money, Money… no doubt a factor. Sure there are others but these are probably in the top 6-7. Regardless Tennessee’s BB is at a critical crossroads and the future could very easily be based on what happens in the next few months. Being a decent team or being one of the Top Teams in the NCAA like they were under Tony is on the table
Some good and bad memories from the last ten RB classes ...
With this great get, will everyone quit being negative and just support our team and be positive until we see what happens?
… but it does sound as if what we’d been wary of all along has come to fruition. Stanford successfully crashed the party with Ben Kolar. After touching base with a couple sources close to this process, I am not expecting him to take his remaining officials at this point, although Jason Witten and Oklahoma will keep fighting the fight to try and change his mind. But it looks like the Cardinal are poised to swipe one from underneath the Sooners’ nose. We’ll keep y’all apprised of any further developments here.
Only room to go up in his analytical model, I guess
We are on site and almost in the building for Brendan Sorsby’s temporary injunction hearing here at the Lubbock County Courthouse. Expect to hear from myself and @L. Selph as we keep you updated on the happenings from inside the courtroom.
We continue to hear good things about Alabama and the chances of landing running back . So good in fact, it's possible he could have a decision sooner rather than later, and if he does, we expect that decision to be Alabama. Phillips has official visits set up with Florida State (June 5) and Alabama (June 12), but after talking to sources, it's possible he only ends up taking one of them. On Thursday, the Irmo High School standout took an unofficial visit to Tallahassee, and the Noles have been putting the full-court press on him. But the Tide, led by Robert Gillespie, is in the driver's seat, per those same sources. He has not announced a decision date yet, but it is possible he's off the board in the not-too-distant future. As we've noted several times, the UA staff would like to take two running backs, as long as it's the right two. On Sunday, they got one in , who was a top priority and committed right after his official visit to The Captone. An interesting development is and both have official visits planned for Tuscaloosa this weekend. Miles is coming off a visit to Auburn, and Martin was in Baton Rouge this past weekend, both were officials. There is a lot that still has to play out, but time could be of the essence for that second running back spot. But UA likes where they currently sit. We will keep you posted as we learn more.
How long can we keep him as DC? Or does he get a p4 job after this coming season, and half our defense transfers. Sheesh. What a stud.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but the longer this recruitment drags on, the better I feel about Kentucky's chances. If Louisville had him locked up, I think we'd already know by now. Patience is a Virtue BBN...
